Proximity and non-contact gesture detection Gesture Sensor 3APDS-9930 provides 12C interface compatible ambient light sensor (ALS, Ambient Light Sensor) and proximity sensor with infrared LED in a single 8-pin package. The ambient light sensor uses dual diodes. To approximate the human visual response of low lumen performance under 0.01lux illuminance, the high sensitivity provided allows the device to operate behind dark glass.
The proximity sensor is fully calibrated to perform 100mm object inspection, eliminating the need for factory calibration of terminal equipment and sub-components. From bright sunlight to dark rooms, the proximity detection function works well. The micro-optical lens is added to the module to provide high-efficiency transmission and reception of infrared energy, which can reduce overall power consumption. In addition, the internal state machine can make the device enter a low-power mode, bringing extremely low average power consumption.
