【Introduction of FT232R】
With the development of computer technology, parallel ports and serial ports have slowly disappeared on PCs. Nowadays, even desktop computers have few parallel ports. But for engineers, both parallel and serial ports are essential interfaces, especially serial ports. For computers without a serial port, the most convenient solution is to use a USB-to-serial chip to virtualize a serial port. Many manufacturers have produced such chips, such as the CP210x series of silicon LABS, the TUSB3410 of TI, and the CH34x series of Nanjing Qinheng. FTDI's FT232 series, Prolific's PL230x series, ARK3116, etc. From the standpoint of stability, the FT232 series is still the most reliable. You can use it to debug programs without worrying about the blue screen.
The FT232R chip is a single-chip solution. Generally, peripherals are not required for general use. Even the crystal oscillator, USB matching resistor, and EEPROM for product information have been integrated inside. FT232R also has some more useful functions.
