TPS61088 is a high-power-density fully integrated boost converter, equipped with an 11 mΩ power switch and a 13 mΩ rectifier switch, which can provide efficient small-size solutions for portable systems. The TPS61088 has a wide input voltage range of 2.7V to 12V, which can support applications that use single-cell or two-cell lithium batteries. The device has 10A switching current capability and can provide output voltages up to 12.6V.
TPS61088 uses an adaptive constant off-time peak current control topology to adjust the output voltage. Under medium to heavy load conditions, TPS61088 works in PWM mode. Under light load conditions, the device can select one of the following two operating modes through the MODE pin. One is the PFM mode that can improve efficiency; the other is the forced PWM mode that can avoid application problems due to low switching frequency. The switching frequency in PWM mode can be adjusted from 200kHz to 2.2MHz through an external resistor. TPS61088 also implements a programmable soft-start function and an adjustable switch peak current limit function. In addition, the device also provides 13.2V output overvoltage protection, cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown protection.
The TPS61088 is available in a 20-pin 4.50mm × 3.50mm VQFN package.
